Waste!? No such thing! I wanted to talk about something that is very close to my heart today - the environment. This is the first installment in a planned series of posts. In this issue, I will focus on the left over timber from creating a DIY project. Click to read more after the break!
Although I do not plan to persuade you to take care of the environment you live in, and preserve it for future generations; I do intend to show you the highly irresistible by-product of doing so.
Ok, so this time around, I'm talking about spare timber. Once you have constructed your enclosure, I guaruntee you will have left over wood. Lets take a look at a small selection of the wood left over from my construction:
I used nails, bolts and glues to affix the varying left overs to my enclosure. I had much more than this left over, I still have spare offcuts to this day. I have retained all offcuts; when a ledge eventually becomes too dirty and soiled, I will rip it out and replace it with fresh from the offcuts. Lets have a look at what I created from the offcuts above:
All the above were added to my enclosure once the construction was completed. They are still there currently and can be observed in my enclosure. They are an excellent bonus to the CARA in my enclosure, they also serve as a means of mobility around the vivarium.
There are still more things that can be created from the offcuts, I will demonstrate these at a later date.
I will be linking these posts together into a coherent form. I plan to create many shorter posts on everything you can recycle when it comes to degu keeping.
